The enrollment for the fall 2021 semester closed last week Friday (Sept 3, 2021). This semester ILT has 102 enrolled students with one auditor and a full-time equivalence (FTE) of 81.26. There are 18 new students this semester. The total head count for the undergraduate programs is 24 and the head count for the graduate programs is 79. These combined are a higher than the total head count because of dual enrolled students. That is, there are students who are dual enrolled at both the undergraduate and graduate level and earning dual credit. There are also students who are taking classes in more than one program.
There are currently more than 120 students actively taking classes at ILT. However, due to many personal issues, some students were required to take this semester off. Of the 102 actual students this semester most are from the U.S. (87), however there are also students form Canada (8), Madagascar (1), Ethiopia (3), Myanmar (2), and Nigeria (1). Those students who are studying with us from outside North America are primarily in graduate programs earning degrees which will credential them to teach at Lutheran colleges and seminaries in their country.
Students at ILT also come from many different church bodies. This semester there are students from the Augsburg Lutheran Congregations (4), Canadian Association of Lutheran Congregations (5), Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (7), Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (18), Luther Congregations in Mission for Christ (31) and the North America Lutheran Church (14). There are also students from many non-Lutheran church bodies including the Episcopal Church, the Methodist Church, and church bodies from other countries.
We give thanks to God for the many students who continue to find ILT a place to receive their education and training. We also give thanks to God for the many donors and contributors who serves these students. This year about 20% of the overall tuition cost to students will be covered by scholarships and financial aid. On behalf of the students, thank you for your support, without which many students would not be able to continue to study at ILT.
