Alumni and Graduate Association
In June 2021, the ILT board of directors received and approved a motion to create an alumni association. The Alumni and Graduate Association (AGA) is established to support ILT alumni and graduate students (STM, DMin, and PhD programs). Membership is also open to honorary alumni. That is, pastors and church leaders who, even if they did not graduate from ILT, feel closer to ILT than the seminary from which they graduated.
The mission of the AGA is as follows: The Alumni and Graduate Association is an association of ongoing spiritual connection, fellowship, and support for students, alumni, and friends of the Institute of Lutheran Theology.
The goals of the AGA are:
To be a source of support for ILT, its graduates, its honorary alumni, its students and ultimately all the people that they serve;
To provide connection points for pastoral prayer groups, Bible study groups, support groups;
To provide opportunities for continuing education and professional development;
To provide student scholarships;
To support ILT at meetings, conventions, and anywhere ILT is represented.
The founding board of the AGA has a tremendous vision for the future and believes that ILT has been blessed to be a blessing to those across the Lutheran Landscape. The founding board consists of:
Rev. Wendy Poch (LCMC) serving as Chair,
Rev. Kari Malinak (LCMC) as Vice Chair,
Rev. Kevin Nelson (CALC) as Secretary,
Rev. Glenn Sokolowski (NALC) as Treasurer,
Rev. Ethan Fearing (LCMC),
Rev. Lou Hesse (LCMC),
Rev. Fran Hill (LCMC),
Rev. Roland Weisbrot (CALC), and
Rev. Dave Wollan (LCMC).
Leon Miles (LCMS) is the ILT staff liaison to the AGA and
Rev. Ed Skutshek (CALC) is the ILT Board liaison to the AGA.
This board has been working very hard to bring the AGA to life so you will have the support you need for all the ministry years that lie ahead.
The AGA is meeting on the first Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m. central time for Bible study with ILT faculty member Rev. Timothy Rynearson. The first AGA event will be on June 29th, 2022. If you are interested in being a member of the AGA, please send the attached application form to AGA Board Chair Wendy Poch (email@example.com) or contact her if you have any questions.
