The Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT) hosted the Augsburg Lutheran Church Theology Conference from Monday September 23rd to Wednesday September 25th. The conference, titled Societas Crucis: A Fellowship of the Cross, focused on the theology of the cross in Lutheran theology. They explored the Christian life lived under the sign of the cross, where “the cross alone is our only theology.” To learn more about the Augsburg Lutheran Church, or their other events click here.
Three professors from ILT presented at the conference this year. Steven Hein, PhD was the keynote speaker. He focused on the theology of the cross in the Christian life. ILT President Dennis Bielfeldt presented on the inability of current secular understanding of theology to make the distinction between the theology of the cross and the theology of glory. Last but not least, Mr. Leon Miles presented on the theology of the cross in Biblical interpretation.
The event was a wonderful time of fellowship and learning. This theological conference is an annual event and is open to everyone, something you might want to remember in the future!
