One Week with the Gospel of John
Twelve ILT students gathered in Brookings this week to study the Gospel of John with Dr. Dan Lioy. These students came together from many parts of North America. Two students came from Canada and the other students came from many places in the U.S. (TX, MN, VA, WI, SD). These students also come from different programs. Students from the Master of Arts, Master of Divinity, Master of Sacred Theology, and Doctor of Ministry participated in this course.
ILT offers two Houses of Study each year. ILT students typically take classes online and meet only using video conferencing software. The House of Studies events bring students together in a location for a week, either at a local congregation, or at the ILT facility in Brookings where they participate in the classroom instruction together. While it is not a requirement for students to participate in these events, or to fulfill a residential requirement, students find these events to be very good for creating community among them.
In this class, students spent a week going though the content of the Gospel of John. This course is a Biblical Theology elective that allows student to look at the content, theology, and ministry applications of the gospel. They will follow up on this course with a major project that will be completed in the next month. We want to thank Dr. Lioy for taking the time to travel, from OR, to lead the students through this course.
