On March 13, 2016, Dr. Dennis Bielfeldt, President of the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT), delivered the first of three presentations on Islam, as a part of a four-week series at Morningside Lutheran Church (LCMC) in Sioux City, IA. Dr. Bielfeldt is one of two presenters in this series. Adults from the local area gather on Sunday afternoons for about an hour and half to learn and grow in their understanding of their Christian Faith and how it relates to the world around them. This is part of an adult education program that Morningside makes available for it members and the local community.
ILT and Morningside are involved in a growing relationship with one another. The Institute sends to Morningside teachers from its faculty and staff, in order to provide regular educational events for the congregation and community. This is because ILT sees itself as more than a seminary that trains and educates pastors and other church workers. While it certainly does that, It also understands that its mission is to provide resources for congregations that help educate and disciple lay people. Thus, the school offers one-time events, as well as more formal relationships with a congregation, where the school provides a series of educational classes for the congregation with whom it is partnering.
Our faculty and staff are willing to help set up these events, and provide instructors and/or workshop leaders, who can take your congregation and surrounding community through good, sound, informative, practical, and inspirational theological topics.
