On January 21st – January 22nd, ILT’s board members along with ILT staff met in Minneapolis to conduct their bi-annual Board of Directors meeting. The level of Board involvement and commitment was beautifully demonstrated by the fact that ten of eleven of the Directors were in attendance at this meeting and that the eleventh member made a significant contribution in writing.
The staff reports received at this meeting including the Presidential, Financial, Academic and Institutional Advancement Reports. These reports were received with appreciation and encouragement. Special notice was focused on the entrepreneurial approaches used in both certificate and practical academic programs that meet specific congregational needs and opportunities.
Of special interest to the Board is the growing collaboration between the Institute of Lutheran Theology and the World Mission Prayer League. These two organizations are creatively and intentionally developing applied training which dynamically unites the best in missiology and Biblical theology for reaching the lost and nurturing the found.
A highpoint of this Board of Directors meeting was the reception of the joyful news that a donor has stepped forward to purchase property and donate it to ILT, which includes three educationally significant buildings sitting on half a city block.
