The Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT) hosted the Augsburg Lutheran Church Theology Conference from Monday September 23rd to Wednesday September 25th. The conference, titled Societas Crucis: A Fellowship of the Cross, focused on the theology of the cross in Lutheran theology. The Institute of Lutheran Theology is proud to announce that Dr. David Agron will join its ranks at Director of Assessment, Accreditation and Program Development. Dr. Agron brings a wealth of experience to this position, as he has worked through his "Agron and Associates" to aid many institutions of higher learning achieve and maintain institutional and program accreditation.
In addition to his work in making sure that ILT is doing meaningful assessment of its programs and meeting all accreditation standards, Dr. Agron will lead our efforts to build a solid undergraduate program that will incorporate key components of the Luther Bible Institute model in its program and orientation.
Over the past month the Institute of Lutheran Theology had the opportunity to interview three great candidates for the title of Dean of Academic Affairs at ILT. This is the office that has been occupied by Dr. Jonathan Sorum, who has announced his retirement from this position at the end of September to pursue theological teaching and research full-time here at ILT. After much thought and prayer, we have decided not to fill the Position as it was originally advertised. While the Institute of Lutheran Theology is growing and its tuition revenue steadily increasing, we have determined that filling the position at this time simply places too much pressure on ILT donors to keep budgets in the bl
