Rev. Dr. Lucas V. Woodford Elected LCMS District President

Dear Friends of ILT, As some of you may know, Rev. Dr. Lucas V. Woodford was elected District President of the Minnesota South District of the LCMS on June 22. Unfortunately for our students this is a full-time job, which means he not only has to step down from Zion Lutheran Church as the Sr. Pastor, but also from being an adjunct professor for ILT. Though we celebrate this honor with Pastor Woodford, we certainly feel the loss of our professor even as his congregation grieves the loss of their Sr. Pastor. Yet, we know that Jesus remains the Lord of the Church and he will continue to lead us all forward. Dr. Woodford was installed as the District President at the convention on June 23, and t

Education Mission: Madagascar

When people heard Eric Swensson was headed to Madagascar they assumed he was going there to teach for ILT. While he did teach one session on several ways one could understand a commissioned office of Evangelist in a country like Madagascar, he approached this journey as a fact-finding trip. After two weeks of living and working with them, he has a deeper understanding of what our leader has been saying, that we have come to Madagascar to learn. We are learning from the Fiangonana Lotherana Malagasy (FLM), or in English, the Malagasy Lutheran Church. It was founded 151 years ago by Lutheran missionaries from Norway. Thank you, thank you, thank you

All of us at ILT would like to say to our donors, “Thank you!” The fiscal year ended June 30 for ILT. With this, the last fund-raising campaign of the fiscal year also ended. The goal of this campaign was to raise $100,000 to support general expenses and to help ILT meet its budgeted goals. ILT received $95,400, 95% of its goal. To all who have donated to the work of ILT, thank you very much! ILT could not exist without the support that it receives from the deep generosity of its donors. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of those who give to ILT. The goal for the ILT budget which ended in June was to raise $750,000 through contributions. ILT received $725,000 in contributions br
