House of Study events; “Bioethics.”

Christ the King Lutheran Church was the place last week, June 20-24, for lively discussion on end-of-life issues. Linda Nicklason received ILT’s Master of Religion degree.

Peace Lutheran Church (LCMC) of Nevis, MN hosted the second graduation service of the season for the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT). On Sunday, June 26th, Linda Nicklason received ILT’s Master of Religion degree and Pastoral Ministry Certificate. Rev. Nicholas Hopman, pastor of Peace, presided at the Holy Communion service. The Rev. Timothy J. Swenson, Dean of Student and Religious Life at ILT, preached the day’s sermon, conducted Linda’s Graduation ceremony, and presented Linda with her diploma. North Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Pelican Rapids was both full of people and full of the Holy Spirit on Sunday, June 12, 2016 for the Graduation, Ordination, and Installation service of Rev. Ethan Fearing, newly called to be North Immanuel’s pastor. Dr. Jonathan Sorum, Academic Dean, and Rev. Timothy J. Swenson, Dean of Student and Religious Life, represented the Institute of Lutheran Theology and conducted Ethan’s Graduation Ceremony. Pastor Fearing presided at the worship service. Pr. William F. ILT’s “The Psalms Christologically” Conference.

Over forty people were on hand to hear Dr. Mark Hillmer address the psalms and their being “filled” or “fulfilled” in Jesus Christ. The Lake Okoboji site of Ingham-Okoboji Lutheran Camp hosted the event from opening worship on Sunday, June 5th, to the closing devotions on Tuesday, June 7th. Held in conjunction with the camp’s Elderversity, twenty-nine of the participants attended under that banner. Twelve attended under the banner of the Institute of Lutheran Theology’s (ILT) theological conference.
