Ministry leaders from diverse parts of India will gather in Bisharah, India on the campus of Shaliach Bible College for an intensive 10 day course of training in Great Commission Leadership. The program will run from June 8th through 18th with instruction provided by The Rev. Dr. Brad Miller, Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT) Assistant Dean of Educational Ministries for International Education. It will be Dr. Miller’s 9th teaching trip to India, but a very special new chapter for ILT. The Great Commission Leadership program is a collaborative offering of ILT and ChurchTech Institute. Dear Friends of Christ’s Mission, This summer, I will be going to Gambella, Ethiopia to teach New Testament Greek to 30 students at Trinity Lutheran Seminary. Trinity is the seminary for the Lutheran Church of South Sudan. It is just across the border from South Sudan because of the Civil War that started in December 2013 and lasted until recent peace endeavors. The students at the seminary are excited about ministry and sharing the Gospel. However, neither the students, Trinity Lutheran Seminary, or the Lutheran Church of South Sudan, have the funds so that each student may have a textbook and a workbook for this summer’s course in New Testament Greek. ILT is pleased to offer the Bethel Series Intensive Bible Study online beginning on July 25, 2016. This course will cover an overview of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation allowing the Bible to reveal itself to students through imagery, biblical concepts and the Bible’s own powerful words. This course will prepare students to be Bethel Series’ trained teachers who, once they have finished twenty-one weeks studying the Old Testament and twenty-one weeks studying the New Testament and having passed the exams, will be certified by Bethel Series headquarters to teach the Bethel Series in an enrolled church.
