As some of you know, ILT has been working with the immigrant church of South Sudan in offering courses in residence both in Sioux Falls and Omaha, as well as offering a residential experience in Des Moines for students from the Congo. All of these students are filled with passion to study so that they might most effectively teach and preach the Good News of Jesus Christ in their communities! While South Sudan has been in the news due to political turmoil, the Rev. Jordan Long, President of the Lutheran Church of South Sudan (LCSS), met with leaders of the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT) on Monday, March 7 in Brookings, South Dakota. The meeting resulted in a joint agreement between ILT and Trinity Lutheran Seminary (TLS). TLS is the seminary of the LCSS located in Gambella, Ethiopia. ILT is creating a plan to credential the faculty of TLS, as well as to help build its theological library. This is in an effort to help them achieve accreditation. Rev.
