The South Dakota Board of Regents Grants Emeritus Status to Dr. Dennis Bielfeldt

The South Dakota Board of Regents by Special Resolution on December 2, 2015, granted Dr. Dennis Bielfeldt the title of Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Religion at South Dakota State University. Dr. Bielfeldt taught in the Philosophy and Religion Department at South Dakota State University for 15 years, and has taught at the college, university and seminary level for over 30 years. The Institute of Lutheran Theology’s online education may differ from what you expect. ILT provides a live, interactive classroom that replicates everything in a traditional classroom and is a fully integrated online campus where students and instructors can communicate with each other. This is not like the old correspondence courses, where there might be no real contact with an instructor and no contact with other students. It is not even like the online classes where you watch a recording of a lecture and then have chat room discussions with other students. What do you know about Educational Ministries and the Certificate Programs at the Institute of Lutheran Theology (ILT)? Well, if you haven’t been watching lately, you will probably be surprised. Certificate Programs are the “other side of the coin” at ILT. While ILT’s Graduate Programs train and educate people for ministry with its Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Religion (MR), Master of Sacred Theology (STM) and Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degrees, the Certificate Programs train and educate laypeople who are in pastoral, educational, and leadership positions in congregations.
